Into The Canyons Under Katla
My uncle has a cabin close to Farmhouse Lodge, under the glacier Mýrdalsjökull and the volcano Katla. The glacier and the glacial rivers have shaped the landscape behind the cabin with deep but lush canyons.
We walk from the cabin into this wonderland, crossing rivers and climbing steep hills. Afterwards we prepare a light supper and enjoy the view across the land towards the south coast.
You will hear stories about the land and the people, my uncle’s grandfather and grandmother and my uncle himself, who for years was a farm boy on one of the farms.

Start: Farmhouse Lodge, Skeidflöt, Mýrdalur, Iceland, at 4 p.m. (16:00 hours)
Duration: 4 hours (3 hours walk and talk and 1 hour light supper at the cabin)
Price: 60 Euro, add 10 Euro if you want light supper. (children age 0-10 free, teenagers age 11-18 half price)
